Thanks to the brands I’ve listed below—many of which I’ve been lucky enough to try myself—we no longer have to simply “make do” with oversized cotton shirts and sweatpants. Nowadays, there are a million active-wear and athleisure brands. Believe it or not, clothes have a massive impact on your mood.

If Sporty Spice had to pick an active-wear line, it’d be this one — no questions asked. Heroine Sport is proof that fashion and sports are better together — have you seen their metallic sport shorts?!
2. Just Curves

Lineage Wear is a body-positive company that is inclusive and mindful in manufacturing its apparel for women of all sizes. The brand’s mission is twofold: to provide women with comfortable workout wear, while also giving back to a variety of charities. Available in sizes up to 5X.
4. Livi Active by Lane Bryant

9. Active Zone by Penningtons
Active Zone is designed by one of the biggest plus-size retailers in Canada. For a long time, they’ve inspired women of all shapes, size, and ages to get active. Penningtons was also the sponsor of my book tour, and I will forever be grateful to them for encouraging plus-size women to enjoy movement. Available in sizes up to 5X.
10. Health Magazine
Health magazine has built an ultra-strong fitness brand by providing innovative content with everything from slimming recipes to workout video clips. They perpetually release a wonderfully wide range of fitness-related content, but what’s performing the best right now?
